Connecting Google Business Profile

Google Business Profile is the integration that makes Ominvo work — real reviews, one-click posting, reply history. Here's where things stand and what happens when API approval lands.

What Google Business Profile is

Google Business Profile (GBP) is the platform behind the reviews that appear when someone searches your business on Google or Google Maps. It's where customers leave stars, write their experience, and read your public responses. For the seven verticals Ominvo serves — salons, restaurants, gyms, dental, med spas, auto services, home services — Google reviews are the most important public trust signal a business has.

Connecting GBP to Ominvo is what turns the product from "a tool that shows you reviews" into "a tool that actively manages your reputation." Without it, the product runs on mock data.

Current status

Ominvo has submitted an application for Google Business Profile API access. Approval is expected around late July 2026.

Until that approval lands, the product runs on realistic mock review data so you can explore the full UI and get familiar with the reply workflow. The mock data looks and behaves like real reviews — it's just not yours yet.

This is the honest answer. There is no workaround that gets you live Google data before Google approves the API application. They control that gate.

What's working right now

Everything except the live data feed:

  • Full dashboard UI — reviews list, reply editor, AI draft workflow
  • AI reply drafts on mock reviews (Chad and GigaChad tiers)
  • Tone preferences and custom reply instructions
  • Billing, settings, and account management

Getting comfortable with the workflow on mock data means you won't need to relearn anything when live reviews switch on.

What activates when API approval lands

  • Your real review feed from all GBP locations
  • AI draft generated for every new incoming review
  • One-click posting of approved replies directly to Google
  • Reply history synced so you have a permanent record of every response

The switch happens automatically. You don't need to do anything to trigger it — when the integration goes live, it activates based on the Google account email you used during onboarding.

What to do now

Sign up, explore, and configure. Set your tone preferences, work through a few mock reviews, and decide how you want the AI to sound. The work you do in setup carries over when live reviews land.

If you have multiple GBP locations, note that the current version associates one business profile per account. Multi-location support is on the post-launch roadmap.
